Vacheron Constantin's groundbreaking Quai de l'Ile line-up has added a handsome new face with the Retrograde Annual Calendar. To power its new piece, Vacheron developed the Calibre 2460 QRA movement, which meets the stringent requirements of the Hallmark of Geneva. Compared to a simple calendar, which is programmed for 31-day months necessitating the need for frequent adjustments, the annual calendar adjusts for irregularities throughout the year, requiring fine-tuning only for February. In addition to its linear retrograde date display, the model also features a high-precision moon phase and a stop-seconds device for accurate time setting. Quai de l'Ile's unique made-to-measure personalization concept also applies to the Retrograde Annual Calendar, which you can order ($58,800) in 18-karat pink gold, white gold, or various combinations of both metals. You can also select from new dial variations in silvered or slate colorations with a combination of satin-brushed and opaline finishes. In a nod to the innovative security printing technology of the original Quai de l'Ile, the Retrograde Annual Calendar's dial features the familiar sun motif, which becomes visible between 4 and 5 o'clock, only under ultra-violet light.
